As of October 25, 2022, the Ridgefield Public Library NO longer charges for overdue fees on Ridgefield Library materials.
AUTOMATIC RENEWALS
Items that are eligible for renewal will automatically renew three (3) days before their due date.
ONE TIME Only:
Before renewing an item, Leap checks for pending holds. It only checks once, at a specific moment in time. If there is a hold at that time, the patron's item will NOT renew automatically.
DON'T BE CONFUSED:
If an item is subsequently checked in at another library that can fulfill a hold, the patron may renew their item on their own if the item has renewals left. REMEMBER - Leap only checks once.
ITEMS WILL NOT BE RENEWED if:
- the patron's card has expired
- patron owes $10.00 or more in fines
- patron has 10 or more items long overdue or lost
- patron has library assigned blocks of "Address Check Required" or "Patron Has Moved"
- there are any holds associated with that specific bibliographic record
- item is out of renewals
- patrons code is "BARRED"
- patron registration will expire prior to the potential renewal due date
LEAP NOTIFICIES PATRON:
with an email or text message (depending on their notification option) whether the item is renewed or not. Patrons with the notification option of mailing address DO NOT get similar updates.
