Public Printing, Copying & Content Responsibility
Patron Responsibility for Printed Content
The Ridgefield Library supports open access to printing services and is committed to
maintaining patron confidentiality. However, the library is not responsible for the content of
materials that patrons choose to print, copy, or scan. Patrons are solely responsible for ensuring
the accuracy, appropriateness, and confidentiality of the documents they submit for printing /
copying.
Staff Handling of Print / Copy Jobs
To prevent mix‐ups and ensure that each patron receives only their own documents, library staff
may briefly handle printed materials to confirm or verify that the correct print job is being given to
the correct patron. Staff do not read, review, or retain the content of any printed materials.
Privacy Options
Patrons who prefer to handle their documents without staff involvement may request available
self‐service options or alternative procedures.
Self-Service Option
● Patrons are welcome to bring their own flash drive, save, and print their own documents.
This ensures that only patrons handle and access their own documents.
● A flash drive is also available for purchase at the front desk. The library does not lend
flash drives.
